About Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHS)

Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHS) is an integrated healthcare delivery system that includes some of the region's finest health and human services agencies. CHS includes six hospitals, three nursing homes, a regional home care and hospice group and a community based agency for persons with special needs. More than 15,000 staff and 3,300 medical professionals work within the CHS system.

Founded in 1997 to oversee the Diocese of Rockville Centre's healthcare organizations, CHS serves hundred of thousands of Long Islanders each year providing care that extends from the beginning of life to helping people live their final years in comfort, grace and dignity.

The Diocese of Rockville Centre's healthcare ministry, organized under CHS, is focused on bringing health and healing to the people it serves. Since 1907, Catholic healthcare on Long Island has built a distinguished tradition of operating community-based hospitals and human service organizations. These services have become widely valued for the high quality of their compassionate care for people from all walks of life and of every religious belief and ethnic group.
