Hurricane Employee Assistance NoticeAlthough CHS’s six hospitals and three skilled nursing facilities have returned to normal operations, we know there will be substantial challenges ahead for everyone affected by this unprecedented event. Many of our friends, family members and neighbors are still experiencing the loss of power, damage to property and other hardships. To assist our employees with emotional, legal and practical matters in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, CHS has established the CHS Work/Life Program storm-related hotline. Employees can call 1 (800) 833-8707, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A personal counselor will be assigned to each employee seeking help with living arrangements, transportation, applying for federal grants or other needs. The counselor will coordinate with the employee’s local Human Resources Department and offer expert support for insurance-related matters. Managers are asked to convey this information to their staff, especially those who are without normal means of communication such as e-mail, telephone and Internet access. Please know that during this trying time, CHS values its employees and is committed to doing everything possible to safeguard their safety and well-being. We are all part of the CHS family, and this is a time to assist one another; we are stronger together than individually. |
