Neurosurgery: Salvatore Palumbo, MD
The high-volume neurosurgical practice of Salvatore J. Palumbo, MD, FACS, encompasses a wide array of cranial surgery for treatment of complex brain tumors, as well as advanced expertise in spinal surgery and spinal reconstruction for both degenerative and traumatic spinal disorders. His surgical spectrum includes minimally invasive microdiscectomies to multilevel instrumented spinal restabilization procedures. Dr. Palumbo is a board certified neurosurgeon at Long Island Neurosurgical & Pain Specialists (LINPS). A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he continues to maintain a research involvement in the field of cranio-spinal trauma and is a participant in a multicenter study. Dr. Palumbo's appointments include chief of neurosurgery at St. Joseph Hospital and director of neurotrauma for Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.
