Catholic Health Hospital Receives Top Marks from CMS Two Years in a Row
For the second consecutive year, Catholic Health’s St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center® has earned a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for excellent medical care and consistently high patient satisfaction scores.
“St. Francis Hospital is committed to providing high quality and safe patient care and continually enhances patient care and safety,” said President of St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center® Charles L. Lucore, M.D., MBA. “We are honored to receive this award, and it is a testament to our doctors’, nurses’ and staffs’ clinical excellence and the quality care they provide to our community.”
The CMS rankings, which are posted on the government’s “Care Compare” website provide consumers with information on how well hospitals and other facilities deliver care to patients and encourages health care facilities to make continued improvements in care quality. Care Compare reports information on more than 100 quality measures for more than 4,000 hospitals nationwide and allows consumers to compare hospital performance across many conditions.
St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center® has consistently been recognized as one of the safest hospitals in the country. In addition to the recent ranking from CMS, St. Francis was named one of the Top General Hospitals in the nation for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group and has earned an ‘A’ 15 out of 17 times since the organization started rating hospital safety in 2012. U.S. News & World Report also recently ranked St. Francis one of the best hospitals in the nation for Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Pulmonology & Lung Surgery and Geriatrics.
