Catholic Health’s Mercy Hospital (Rockville Centre, NY) is thrilled to announce the opening of its brand new Center for Pain Management, a 3,375-square-foot space offering an additional 3,000 additional-square-feet of expansion capability. The Center will effectively manage chronic pain, if not eliminate it so that patients can return to a better way of life.

Prior to the grand opening of the new space, held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Mercy offered pain management services within the hospital in smaller space. The Center was expanded in an effort to address the growing need to manage acute and chronic pain conditions and to decrease opiate use by employing minimally invasive and non-narcotic treatment plans. Additionally, the Center provides the added convenience of access from a location standpoint.

“This is the renaissance of Mercy Hospital and the opening of the Center for Pain Management is part of the revitalization,” said Joseph Manopella, president. “Over the next several years we are committed to investing in services, as well as upgrading our infrastructure, that will not only make our patients and staff proud but also the communities we serve proud.

Within the Center, Mercy’s physicians will carefully assess pain, discuss goals of care, and make treatment recommendations to bring front-line treatments to the patients. Specialties available include trigger point injection with ultrasound guidance, radio frequency denervation, epidural blocks, management of spinal cord stimulators and narcotic pumps, monitored anesthesia care, nerve blocks and more.  The Center will serve both the hospital’s inpatient and outpatient populations.
