St. Charles Hospital Appoints New Vice President, Human Resources

Catholic Health’s St. Charles Hospital named Stephen E. Trentowski, SHRM-CP, vice president for human resources (HR). In his new role, Trentowski will oversee the daily HR activities, including employee and labor relations, employee engagement and performance management strategies. In addition, he will help foster a culture that promotes a high level of employee experience and engagement through the effective delivery of HR services.

“We are very fortunate to have Mr. Trentowski as part of St. Charles’ leadership team,” said St. Charles President James O’Connor. “Mr. Trentowski’s extensive HR experience over the past 16 years, as well as his proven track record in driving large-scale HR initiatives and programs, will be an asset to St. Charles Hospital and its employees.”

Prior to joining Catholic Health, Trentowski served as a human resources business partner for Northwell Health’s Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, providing day-to-day oversight of HR operations. He worked collaboratively with department heads and hospital leadership. Prior to Northwell, Trentowski was director of employee relations at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island, where he established and managed employee relations policies and procedures, serving as the primary liaison for internal and external legal counsel regarding all employment legal matters.

Trentowski earned his bachelor’s in public health from Southern Connecticut State University and received two professional certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management and Outcome Engenuity.
