Catholic Health has named Michael Mainiero as its senior vice president and chief digital and information officer (CDIO).

Mainiero will be responsible for the operation of the information systems department. He will play a vital role in transforming Catholic Health’s digital strategy and landscape. This will include generating solutions to enhance the digital experience for consumers, patients and employees, improving on current processes and partnering on key marketing and business initiatives.

“Technology makes a huge difference in everyone’s life, especially when it comes to the delivery of health care,” said Catholic Health President & CEO Patrick M. O’Shaughnessy, DO, MBA. “Under Michael’s leadership, we will continue investing in digital health platforms without losing sight of the compassionate and personalized care we provide our patients.”

Mainiero joins Catholic Health after more than two decades at NYU Langone Health, most recently serving as its senior director for digital strategy and innovation. He was responsible for a vast portfolio of digital products and innovations across patient care, research and digital clinical experience.

"Digital technology is an essential medium for patient/provider engagement, ultimately supporting better patient outcomes,” said Mainiero. “We are excited to enhance the digital experience for the community served by our health system.”

Mainiero earned his bachelor’s in biology from SUNY Oswego.
