Catholic Health Names New Chief Quality and Patient Experience Officer

Catholic Health has named Chhavi Katyal, MD, MBA, MS, its new chief quality and patient experience officer. Dr. Katyal most recently served as medical director of The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore.

“Dr. Katyal is a highly seasoned pediatric critical care physician with rich experience in executive leadership focused on quality,” said Catholic Health Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Jason Golbin, DO, MBA, MS. “Her strong background in safety, patient experience and regulatory leadership will bring great strengths to Catholic Health.”

 Dr. Katyal is also an associate professor in pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. She earned her medical degree at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn through the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, before completing a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She also holds two master’s degrees from Cornell; one in business administration, one in health care policy.

Dr. Katyal resides in Manhasset with her husband and three children.
