Newsweek 2

ROSLYN, NY, June 9, 2020 – St. Francis has been ranked one of the six best hospitals in the country for cardiology by Newsweek in its “The World’s Best Hospital 2020” list. The rankings are based on recommendations from medical professionals, results from patient surveys, and key medical performance indicators.

Through a partnership with Statista, tens of thousands of medical professionals in 20 selected countries, were asked to complete an online survey. The U.S. had the most hospitals recognized, with specialized hospitals, such as heart and cancer hospitals, displayed in a separate list.

“As New York State’s only specialized heart center we are proud to be on an elite list of only six heart hospitals nationwide to be recognized by Newsweek,” said Charles L. Lucore, M.D., MBA, President of St. Francis Hospital. “It is a true testament to emphasis we continually place on providing leading edge cardiac care.”

The Newsweek ranking is among the latest national accolades St. Francis has received for quality patient care. St. Francis is the only hospital on Long Island to have a 5-Star CMS rating.  It has also been rated by the Leapfrog Group as one of the Top General Hospitals in the nation for patient safety.
