St. Catherine of Siena Achieves National Accreditation as a Breast Center

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation to St. Catherine of Siena Hospital.

In order to achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, St. Catherine demonstrated compliance with the NAPBC standards that look at a center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement. Breast centers seeking NAPBC accreditation undergo a site visit every three years.

St Catherine’s performs more than 8,000 breast imaging studies a year, offering the latest in mammography including 3D breast mammography and breast MRI. When biopsy is needed, our interventional radiologist is highly skilled in performing stereotactic biopsy and needle localization biopsies. The surgical team offers the latest advances in surgical options including breast conservation techniques, minimally invasive surgeries, and the only Hidden Scar Surgery designated surgeon in Suffolk County. To oversee each patient’s care is a caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable patient navigator who works closely to ensure all needs are met.

As a NAPBC-accredited center, St. Catherine of Siena is committed to maintaining levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered, multidisciplinary care resulting in high-quality care for patients with breast disease.
